This policy covers the Dua mobile app (Android, with iPhone planned) and this website. It applies whether you use Dua as a guest or with an account.
If you create an account, we collect the email address, display name, and profile photo associated with your sign-in method (Google, or email and password). You may also add favorite duas, personal dates (like anniversaries or reminders), and preferences such as language, timezone, and notification times — all tied to your account so they sync across devices.
To power features like reading streaks, sync, and reminders, we record activity such as which duas you open and when. We also collect basic device and diagnostic information (app version, platform, crash reports) to keep the app reliable, and app-usage analytics you can turn off in Settings at any time.
You can use the core reading experience without creating an account. In guest mode, your favorites and preferences stay on your device rather than syncing to our servers, and nothing that identifies you personally is collected.
The free version of Dua shows ads through Google AdMob. Where required by law, we ask for your consent to personalized advertising through Google’s User Messaging Platform before any such ads are shown, and you can change that choice later from the app’s privacy settings. Advertising partners may use an advertising identifier for this purpose.
We use the information above to provide and sync the app’s features, personalize timing and suggestions, keep the service secure and prevent abuse, show ads in the free tier, and diagnose and fix problems.
We rely on Google Firebase and Google Cloud to host and run Dua, and on Google AdMob to show ads in the free version. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security commitments. We do not sell your personal information, and we only share it beyond these providers if required by law.
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, from within the app or from this website’s account-deletion page, without needing the app installed. Deletion is verified, queued immediately, and automated cleanup normally completes shortly after — including your authentication record, profile, favorites, reading progress, statistics, and account-linked activity.
Dua is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
You can edit your profile and preferences, turn analytics off, and manage notifications at any time from within the app. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time — see “Data retention and deletion” above.
Dua is operated using Google Firebase and Google Cloud infrastructure, which may process and store data in countries other than your own.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
